Student speaks at Student Design Charrette Panel

SAISD has partnered with LPA Design Studios for a Student Design Charrette, an opportunity for students interested in architecture to participate in workshops hosted by industry professionals in honor of Architect Week.

The primary goal of this event was to amplify student voices and emphasize the importance of community engagement. Day 1 included a workshop for students to brainstorm ideas on how to repurpose vacant and underutilized facilities. Day 2 featured a panel of industry professionals discussing their approach to repurposing and explaining how local communities play a role in the decision making.

The two-day event is hosted at Lanier High School, which is the recipient of the Caudill Award,
