We celebrated another Bond 2020 milestone! Schenck Elementary School hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony last Wednesday night. Guests were treated to charming performances by Schenck’s ballet folklórico and choir in the brand-new library funded by Bond 2020.
Additional Bond 2020 renovations include a new academic building complete with classrooms, extracurricular spaces, and a community room, one of the first in the district.
Schenck first opened its doors in 1955 and had the largest cafetorium for the elementary at the time of construction. Go Owls!

Fifteen SAISD high school students were invited to observe and experience the district's bond sale yesterday, which was conducted at the Frost Building in downtown San Antonio. Students viewed the process and sale of bonds from the beginning to end and toured the bank. This event is an excellent opportunity for students to learn how their schools are financed, built, renovated, planned and equipped and how global financial market conditions affect our everyday lives.
Ayer 15 estudiantes de preparatoria de SAISD fueron invitados a observar y presenciar la venta de bonos del distrito, la cual se llevó a cabo en el edificio Frost en el centro de San Antonio. Los estudiantes vieron el proceso y la venta de bonos de principio a fin y recorrieron el banco. Este evento es una excelente oportunidad para que los estudiantes aprendan cómo sus escuelas son financiadas, construidas, renovadas, planificadas y equipadas y cómo las condiciones del mercado financiero global afectan nuestra vida cotidiana.
