Trustees Adela Segovia and Olga Hernandez were on hand for the opening of the new kitchen and renovated cafeteria at Hillcrest ES. Anchorwoman Ursula Pari was the guest of honor for the Pre Thanksgiving Lunceon.

Hillcrest ES celebrated, in early June, the start of construction on the school's new kitchen.

Community meetings are being held at each of the 22 campuses slated to receive major renovations under the bond, including this meeting held at Burbank HS in spring 2012.

Edison High School students, staff and community members celebrated completion of the school’s new all-weather track in October with a parade.

Davis MS was the first of 11 middle schools that will receive a high-tech career exploration lab for early exploration of careers in STEM-related fields (science, technology, engineering and math).

Playgrounds have been installed at all but 13 of the elementary schools and Pre-K-8 campuses that will receive them under the bond. The remaining campuses are slated to receive major renovations, and the play structures will be installed afterward.

Fencing was installed at Baskin ES and will be installed at 68 campuses to provide greater safety and security.

Bond-funded computers were delivered and installed at campuses starting in the 2010-11 school year and into the early part of the 2011-12 school year.
